The feed health digest email

What the digest is

The digest is a scheduled summary email of your whole organization's feed health. Where breakage alerts fire the moment something goes wrong, the digest gives you a calm, regular overview: how many feeds are healthy, how many need attention, how many have not been built yet, your total products across feeds, and your total open alerts.

It is the 'spot problems without logging in' surface. It goes to your owners and admins on the schedule you choose.

How feed health is scored in the digest

For each feed, the digest looks at the latest built file of every channel export and computes a health score from how many products passed validation. The feed-level score is the share of valid products across its output feeds, from 0 to 100.

Feeds are bucketed so the email reads at a glance, and the list is ordered worst-first so the feeds that need you are at the top.

  • Healthy: built and scoring 90 or above.
  • Needs attention: built but scoring below 90.
  • Not built: the feed has no built export yet, so it has no score (this is shown distinctly, not as a misleading 100).

Turn the digest on

The digest is managed in Settings, in the Reports card, and is available to org owners and admins.

  1. 1Go to Settings and find the Reports card.
  2. 2Set Frequency to Daily or Weekly (Off disables it).
  3. 3If you chose Weekly, pick the Day of the week to receive it.
  4. 4Your choice saves immediately.
  5. 5Click 'Send me a test' to receive the current digest at your own email right away.

When it sends and how delivery is guaranteed

A background tick runs every hour and decides which organizations are due. Daily digests send once per day from a fixed send hour (13:00 UTC) onward; weekly digests send the same way but only on your chosen weekday. A send ledger ensures each period is sent at most once.

Hourly checking with a send window gives you catch-up: if the system could not send at the exact hour, a later hour the same day still delivers it. Repeating schedules do not backfill old misses, so this window is what makes the digest reliable rather than skipping a day.

Email delivery must be configured

The digest, like all MartechFlow email, only sends when email delivery is enabled for the platform. If it is not yet configured, the Reports card tells you so, and your frequency choice is still saved and will take effect once email is turned on.

Recipients are your organization's active owners and admins, derived from your org membership. The 'Send me a test' action sends only to the admin who clicked it.

Questions

What's the difference between the digest and breakage alerts?

Alerts are real-time and fire when a specific feed breaks. The digest is a scheduled roll-up of all your feeds' health on a daily or weekly cadence. Use alerts to react fast and the digest to stay generally informed.

What time of day does the digest arrive?

Digests send from 13:00 UTC onward on their due day. The exact minute can vary slightly because delivery is checked hourly with a catch-up window, but you get one per period.

Can I choose which day my weekly digest arrives?

Yes. When Frequency is Weekly, pick any day of the week in the Reports card. The digest then sends on that weekday.

Why does a feed show 'not built' instead of a score?

That feed has no built export yet, so there is nothing to score. The digest shows it as not built rather than giving it a misleading perfect score, so you know to publish it.

I clicked 'Send me a test' but nothing arrived.

Check whether the Reports card says email delivery is not configured. If email is off, no message can be sent, but your settings are saved and will apply once email is enabled. If email is on, check spam and that your account email is correct.
